Marisa just informed me that The Vaccines are randomly playing Philly again in August at the same great little venue we saw them at last time. 

I definitely just requested those days off work. 

What is wrong with me. 

I make one of these “I’m still alive” posts like once a month but here we go. 

I’m still alive! I survived Governors Ball! Barely! Somehow in the same three-day period, we managed to both almost drown/get hypothermia and then on Sunday I almost got sun poisoning. The whole day I was like “guess my back got a little burned” and then I got back to the apartment that night and was like “HOLY MOTHER OF GOD”

So Friday was miserable as all hell, Saturday was pretty awesome (especially KOL), and Sunday was pretty perfect outside of the whole sunburn thing. KOL, The Vaccines, and Bloc Party were my predictable favorites—and they all played/premiered new songs! Bloc Party was pretty much the best crowd I’ve ever seen. So glad I finally got to see them, even though I only really love like half of their repertoire and the other half is very meh to me. Marisa was the best possible person I could have seen them with.

But I got to hang out with Marisa and Lore and Rudy and Mike, which was amazing, and I’m seeing them again on Saturday, or most of them. And we had THE BEST apartment in the world, and it was nice to be off from work for a long stretch and actually go somewhere.

But work people legit missed me. I was gone for FOUR DAYS and the number of calls and texts and FaceTimes I got, and the amount of “OMG you’re back!” comments I got on Tuesday after coming back was just…touching. Also I love my best friend more than life—he missed me so much in only four days, and it’s weirdly nice to say that I missed him too even though I was off doing fun things. It’s nice to have people like that in your life.

It’s pretty much back to work and life as usual for now, I guess. Monday was Apple Christmas with new products and software, so that’s now a thing. I’m going to see Superman tomorrow at midnight. My back is still so burned I can’t even breathe in heavily or it hurts. It’s a fairly quiet few work weeks I have coming up, but I have this very strong feeling things are going to get exciting in the nearish future. 

I just went through all the photos I’ve ever taken (and not deleted) with my iPhone, which I bought pretty much the first day I set foot in my store as an employee a year and a half ago.
