Today was the first day in about five where I’ve come home from work without feeling like I had some sort of miscommunication with someone about procedure, or was told two different things about something from two different people. Today was actually great, even though we (meaning me and my mentor person for the day) didn’t sell a single thing.
I also discovered that You Only Live Once comes on the store soundtrack at around 11AM…I was standing as concierge at the door and I heard a song come on vaguely, and with a lot of the music in the store, I’m like “oh this sounds cool but I don’t know what it is, let me Shazam it.” I was about to get my phone out when I suddenly heard it better and realized it was YOLO and I just started laughing at myself (also kind of dancing, which seems somewhat acceptable as long as it’s not excessive and you’re not actively with a customer, judging by what other employees do). It’s weird how an unexpected hearing of a song you love can totally brighten your day, though. The other night when I was annoyed about something while driving home from work, UCOD came on my iPod on shuffle and it instantly made me feel better. I think this is what I love about music the most.
That said, quite literally almost EVERY OTHER SONG on the store soundtrack is Coldplay, and while this is great, it’s also kind of weird that they’re played about 30 times a day, every day, where most other artists have 1 or 2 songs max.
