Easy answer: People enjoy hating things. Especially with no valid reason. People are a bit… well.

This is true, and it’s a quality I’m not in love with in today’s world. I try my best not to be that way. 

But I guess I can think of a lot of things that people dislike with no reason but aren’t as vocally horrible about as they are with that particular band. It’s like Coldplay is the butt of the universe’s joke and I actually have never understood why even when I try to step away from my obvious bias. Then again, I’m just more perceptive of it because I’m a fan.
